the reception.

The reception will be held at The Embassy Suites in Livonia, MI.

The tables will be alternating fuchsia and tangerine with white chair covers and opposite color sashes.  The napkins will also be opposite to the table color.  The centerpieces may be as well, but with the incorporation of tangerine slices (see below), I may use all pink flowers for the centerpieces...we'll see what the florist says.

The tables will each be named after different species of monkeys, apes, and primates.  Chad loves monkeys, so this is one way I decided to incorporate his interests into the theme.  All the table name cards will be about 5x7 and surrounded by fuchsia cardstock.  I'm either going to make them double sided and put them into a wire picture stand, or tent them with ribbon...again, it's a wait and see kind of thing.

Centerpieces will alternate between short and talls and will be made up of carnation balls and tangerine slices.  For the tall centerpieces, we'll use tall, cylindrical vases with tangerine slices hanging from the center.  For the short centerpieces, I want to use either bubble vases or square vases filled with tangerine slices and topped with a ball of carnations (proportions still need to be worked out...it's a new idea).

I want to hang fuchsia and orange chinese lanterns over the dance floor.  I still have to talk to the venue to make sure this will be possible, but I hope it is.  It's something I've been picturing for my wedding for a long time!
